Lalon Peale
Lalon Peale, also known as “Clipper”, graduated from Dallas Jesuit High School in 1984. Following his graduation from high school, Mr. Peale undertook his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in History. After obtaining his bachelor of arts degree Mr. Peale continued his education by attending St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio, Texas where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
Upon completing law school and obtaining his degree, Mr. Peale worked in the legal division for Treasurer Hutchison, who was Texas State Treasurer at the time. After obtaining valuable experience and connections in the political arena, Mr. Peale received a call from the Dallas County District Attorney asking if he was interested in pursing a career as a prosecutor with the Dallas DA’s office. Mr. Peale worked as an assistant Dallas District Attorney for approximately two years obtaining a vast amount of trial experience.
However, politics came calling again when the newly elected State Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison asked Mr. Peale to come work for her in Washington D.C. as Legislative Counsel and Assistant. In his capacity as Legislative Counsel and Assistant Mr. Peale helped draft federal legislation and advise Senator Hutchison in the areas of criminal law, immigration and OSHA, to name a few. After spending time on Capital Hill advising Senator Hutchison and gaining vast experience in federal law, Mr. Peale felt the calling to come home to Dallas.
Mr. Peale returned to Dallas in 1995 and eventually opened up his own firm focusing mainly on criminal defense work. In 2000 Mr. Peale was asked to join the law firm of Rader & Campbell as a partner and shareholder. Mr. Peale continued his practice in criminal defense work and expanded his practice areas to include those areas he had worked on while with Senator Hutchison’s Office, ie. OSHA, civil litigation, construction law and legislative lobbying.
In 2003, Mr. Peale split off from Rader & Campbell to form his own firm, Lalon C. Peale Attorney & Counselor.
Through his years of practice as a Dallas County Prosecutor, as Legislative Counsel to Senator Hutchison and as practicing lawyer, Mr. Peale has acquired extensive experience in numerous facets of the law, focusing mainly on criminal defense, both federal and state, and civil litigation. Mr. Peale has extensive trial experience in everything from minor misdemeanor DWI’s or Assaults to intricate cases involving DNA and forensic experts like Capital Murders and Aggravated Sexual Assault by means of a deadly weapon.
Mr. Peale is a member of a number of legal organizations. He is associated with and a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr. Peale has been married to his wife Pam for over two years. He claims to have two children, his dogs Dixie and Georgia. In addition to practicing law and beginning his family, he enjoys traveling, sporting activities, including hunting and skiing, and a good book.
