Being charged with a crime is a serious matter. Felony punishments range anywhere from: a minimum of 180 days to a maximum of 2 years and up to a $10,000.00 fine on a state jail felony; a minimum of 2 years up to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections (TDC) and up to a fine of $10,000.00 on a third degree felony; a minimum of 2 years up to 20 years in TDC and up to a fine of $10,000.00 on a second degree felony; and a minimum 5 years up to 99 years TDC and up to a fine of $10,000.00 on a first degree felony.
